Whilst training to become a teacher Will Hussey occasionally hypnotised his friends in to thinking they were chickens. He's still very interested in understanding how people tick (but not so much in the chickens). Will practises his forward-thinking strategies with primary school pupils, and from time-to-time lectures in learning, communication and congruence - amongst other things. He recently decided to write down some of his ideas, and hopes you like them. Will has completed three London marathons and the Snowdonia marathon (just about). He's vowed "never again," again.
More about Will:
Honestly? Some of these ‘facts’ are not set in stone. It would perhaps be more accurate to say they’re firmly rooted in blancmange. They’re true, of course, as of the time of writing. It’s just that, as we all know, times change. I guess an unhealthy fixation with time management leads to #blancmange1:
1. Today is my 655th day of consecutive running. I’ve not been running all that time (obviously) just that I’ve headed-out the door every day for a while now. Why? I’m not really sure. What I do know is that it only takes a day to stop, and considerably longer to get back to this point. It’s probably an unhealthy healthy obsession. But you’ve got to be obsessed with something, right?
2. I can’t play the saxophone, the guitar or the piano. Or any other musical instrument for that matter, but I’ve made a concerted effort with the aforementioned three. Alas, to no avail. You could say I’ve managed to eliminate any discernible ‘concert’ from concerted.
3. I’m pretty good at skiing, even if I do say so myself. I’ve never actually been skiing, you understand, but I’m confident it’s my thing. I know this because I’m pitiful at ice-skating, and obviously that’s very different to skiing (I imagine). Experience isn’t everything, you know. Find out what you suck at and then do something completely different. Simple. It’s called using your weaknesses to your advantage.
4. I’ve got a dog called Spud. He bears more than a passing resemblance to ‘Gnasher’ from the Beano.
5. Last weekend I ventured to see ‘Strictly Come Dancing LIVE’. Next weekend, I’m off to see ‘Europe’s Strongest Man LIVE’. To be clear, neither of these are of my own volition. My world is seemingly a curious blend of power-bellies and the cha-cha-cha. I guess I’m learning when to make a song-and-dance of things and when to grin and bear it. I think this is called life, and we all have a dose of it. Best make the most of it…
