About the Author

Gregory W. Pedlow served as chief of the Historical Office at NATO’s Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe from 1989 until his retirement in 2015. He now lives in Germany. In addition to his coauthorship of the CIA study of its manned overhead reconnaissance aircraft, he has published books and articles on German history, the Cold War, NATO, and the Battle of Waterloo.

Donald E. Welzenbach is a retired historian for the Central Intelligence Agency. He lives in Moline, Illinois.

Chris Pocock has written extensively on aerial reconnaissance. A preeminent authority on the U-2 program, his books include Dragon Lady Today and 50 Years of the U-2. He resides in the United Kingdom.
