Synopsis
This selection of Advent readings from wise saints throughout the history of the church provides readers with thoughtful reflections in the days leading up to Christmas. Men and women throughout history have meditated on the incarnation—the coming of Jesus Christ into the world—and it is a rich source of blessing to the soul to focus on the Person of Christ and all that he accomplished in becoming both Man and God. As the incarnation was a necessary prelude to the cross, it is hoped that these selections will engage and challenge hearts to know more of Immanuel, God with us, the Prince of Peace.
