Synopsis

How did plants come into being? How did animals come into being? How did human beings come into being? Why did plants come into being? Why did animals come into being? Why did humans come into being? These questions may be seen as among the most profound issues concerning us. This book may be seen as an attempt, on the part of the author, to look into these issues and try to find out, in some sense, or to some extent, some answers. Cambrian explosion has perplexed biologists for a long time. It is pointed out, in this book, that Cambrian explosion may be seen as a symmetric explosion, in the sense that the coming into being of symmetry in the animal life forms had to do with the appearance and rapid diversification of animals in such a period. The same may be seen in the Devonian explosion, when plants emerged on a large scale, and in the Cretaceous, a time when flowering plants came into being on earth. If that is the case, then, it seems, the theory of evolution may no longer be seen as an adequate or sufficient theory explaining things. It is in such a sense that the theory of avolution was developed to explain the coming into being or development of things. Dark energy had been often associated with empty space. How to understand such "empty space"? Is it really empty? It may not be empty. It may be a symmetric space. That is, dark energy may be seen as an energy associated with the cosmic symmetry. The presence of the cosmic symmetry may be seen in the cosmic microwave background(CMB). The symmetric or harmonic existence of the cosmos may be seen in the cosmic microwave background. Human beings are humoral beings, in the sense that, the humorality of man may be seen as the fulfilment or realization of symmetry in man, or through man. Such a symmetric fulfilment or harmonic realization in man may be observed in the presence of the various symmetries in man, such as, the double helical symmetry, the sexual symmetry, the bilateral symmetry, the moral symmetry, the aesthetic symmetry, or the logical symmetry. Other things, such as the structure of truth, the structure of being, the symmetric powers, the tree of symmetry, the being of man, or the way of heaven are also discussed, to a certain extent, in this book.

Jiayou Liew lives at York University, Toronto, Canada. To write his book, he was unable to pay attention to anything else, such as, to make a living for himself. He lost his family. In a solitary life, Jiayou Liew read, wrote and meditated on the issues involving biology, philosophy and physics. For more than 12 years, Jiayou Liew wrote his book, continuously, paying little attention to a life that may hardly be seen as a life.
