Synopsis

The Spooky Gate is the second book in the Ponies are Good for Dads series, perfect for young horse lovers aged 6+ who dream of riding, jumping, and having their own pony adventures. This heartwarming and inspiring story follows Daisy as she embarks on her first big challenge with her new pony, Disco.

Daisy is thrilled—her dream of owning her own pony has come true, and she and Disco are ready to take on the world together. When she spots a flyer for a local show jumping competition, she knows they have to enter. With determination in her heart and a plan in her notebook, Daisy convinces her dad to let her train for the event. Everything seems to be going perfectly—until they come across the gate jump.

Disco, usually full of energy and confidence, stops in his tracks. No matter what Daisy tries, he won’t jump the gate. As competition day looms, Daisy is heartbroken. What if Disco can’t overcome his fear? What if they aren’t ready? With the encouragement of her dad and the wisdom of Mrs. Jenkins her trainer, Daisy realizes that success isn’t just about trying harder—it’s about understanding Disco and gaining his trust. She comes up with a creative plan to help Disco see the gate in a whole new way.

Packed with adventure, humor, and heartfelt moments, The Spooky Gate is a wonderful read for children who love horses and enjoy stories about perseverance, problem-solving, and the special bond between a rider and their pony. Readers will cheer for Daisy as she navigates challenges, learns valuable lessons, and proves that patience and determination can turn fears into triumphs.

Perfect for bedtime reading, independent readers, and pony-mad kids, The Spooky Gate will leave young equestrians inspired and eager for their next riding adventure. If your child dreams of jumping fences, galloping through fields, or simply adores ponies, this book is a must-have.

Daisy’s journey continues in the Ponies are Good for Dads series, where she and Disco take on new challenges, grow together, and discover just how much fun having a pony can be. Because ponies aren’t just good for Daisy—they’re good for dads, too!
