Frané Lessac is an author and illustrator of international renown, having over fifty children's picture books published throughout the world. She grew up in a small town outside New York City and had many pets, including a monkey, a couple of snakes and a camel. She is married to children's author Mark Greenwood, and together they have collaborated on Simpson and his Donkey and Our Country: Where History Happened, both CBCA Honour Books. Her latest books include The Big Book of Australian Nursery Rhymes and Cattle Muster. Frané constantly visits schools, libraries and festivals, sharing the process of creating books that empower both children and adults.
