Synopsis

When venture capitalists steal his lucrative app, Rand seeks solace on a backpacking expedition to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, where he slips and is swept into the turbulent rapids. Nearly drowned, battered, and bruised, he seeks refuge in a hidden cave, where glowing lights lure him further in, and a mysterious galvanic force overcomes him. Barely able to move, he wakes in the bed of a beautiful maiden who nurses him back to health. While recovering, her father, Ireland's first printer, teaches him the revolutionary printing profession.

At their sponsor, King Edward's castle, Rand meets the beguiling Marie, a captivating, French royal, bibliomaniac with whom all the lords-including the formidable knight, Reginald, are infatuated. Marie induces him to compete in the Games, where he wins her favor—along with a formidable foe. Rand has one advantage though—a downloaded copy of Wikipedia on his i-phone, which he must access judiciously before the battery dies.

The Time Traveler series steps back to a time when printing technology revolutionized Europe, when for the first time books were printed in English. Before they are lost to the ravages of time, our hero searches for priceless, ancient manuscripts to preserve for posterity, during a time when Isabella frees Spain, Columbus discovers America, Henry the VIIIth assumes the throne and the Renaissance blooms.
