Synopsis

A Little Book of Mourning follows the journey of the human heart when confronted with loss. Through this collection of spontaneous short essays, Katherine Lench Meyering shares the pathway she navigated through the abyss any parent would experience after a child's catastrophic choice. A trained actress, vocalist, songwriter and author, Katherine attempts to make amends with sadness, despair and anger, and to find forgiveness, understanding and peace with the unthinkable. With the unchangeable. With the illogical. These are the lucid, raw feelings that arose after the loss of her daughter, Alex, to suicide, presented chronologically as Katherine experienced them. Katherine hopes the vivid descriptions of her feelings and thoughts as she is forced to cope with an untimely death might help someone else living through the same thing. It might feel like you are alone in this, but you aren't. And reading how Katherine is getting through this never-ending process might help you get through it, too.
