With a desire to explore the nine Fruits of the Spirit through story, poetry, and image, Paul Asjes has curated a literary collection that ranges from science fiction to motorcycles, and from the safe confines of a schoolhouse to a brutal kick in the face by a cow. These fully human expressions of love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control never shy from exploring themes of loneliness, loss, failure, and disappointment. While some would prefer to focus on the forbidden fruit, Asjes takes us under the tree of life, gently digging deep into the dirt to reveal our awe-inspiring spiritual roots, thus granting the reader a stunning glimpse at what grows under the surface. About the Author
Paul Asjes was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. He spent many summers gardening in Stillwater, Minnesota, and canoeingin the Boundary Waters. He is currently a New York City educator. He has taught math, art, history, reading, and writing. After ColinWitt trained him for his first marathon over a decade ago, Paul loves running. Paul believes that habits help determine our destiny. Hisbook Isaiah's First Winter is a 2023 Mom's Choice Awards(R) GOLD Award winner.
