Synopsis
It’s beginning to look like Christmas in Chinkapin, but Laurie can’t get into the holiday spirit. Everything is happening so fast!
First, there’s her wedding – if only she and Chase can set a date, find rings, and agree on the reception. And after blowing her budget on a Christmas present for Chase, Laurie can’t afford a wedding dress. Was her idea for the perfect gift a mistake? Normally friend Mary is full of advice, but this time she’s letting Laurie sink or swim on her own.
Meanwhile, Laurie and Chase are excited about the old house they’re buying near the Coffee Pot café. It gets more exciting when Laurie finds a mysterious box in a secret compartment in one of the closets. All she needs is the key, and keys are turning up everywhere.
Another mystery Laurie wants to solve is why Evelyn is so darned annoying. She bosses the volunteers at the Treasure Chest around like she owns the place, and not just at the thrift shop, but at St. Mark’s as well. Maybe Evelyn has deeper connections to the church than Laurie realized.
