Jo Ann Smith has been involved with computational thinking and computer programming for nearly 40 years - as the owner of a computer training company, a professor of computer science, a computer consultant in higher education and an employee of AT&T Bell Labs. She has authored 19 college level computer science text books. Now retired, she has been teaching computer programming to 3rd thru 6th grade students at her local library in Batavia, Illinois. She has been using the coloring techniques used in ColorMyCode and has found the children enthusiastic. She has also found their parents excited - some asking if they could participate. She has an MS in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a BS in Education from the University of Dayton
Elise is a devoted artist, musician, daughter, sister and aunt. She has grown up always looking for ways to satisfy her creative hunger. Elise studied Graphic Design at Illinois State University and Waubonsee Community College. She earned an Associate Degree and plans to make her way to Chicago in order to continue her education and seek creative opportunities.
