Synopsis
The 1920 publication of "Perfect Eyesight Without Glasses" by William H. Bates, MD launched the famous Bates Method. This method has since become the most widespread and respected approach to eyesight improvement in the West. Due to its ornate style and technical language, the original has been inaccessible to all but the most determined reader. All of the text has been edited for clarity. All but the most basic medical terms have been simplified. There is an extensive glossary included. In addition, the editor has removed the original photographs and added more than 20 new illustrations which make the meaning crystal clear.

William H. Bates, MD was a ground-breaking ophthalmologist who practiced in New York City in the 1920's. Not satisfied with simply prescribing corrective lenses, he discerned the very source of most eye conditions and developed an approach to preventing them and healing them.
