About the Author

Jane Yolen lives in Massachusetts and has written more than 300 books across all genres and age ranges, including the Sydney Taylor Honor book, Miriam at the River. She has been called the Hans Christian Andersen of America and the Aesop of the twentieth century. Christine Battuz studied drawing and painting in Italy and has illustrated many children's books. Working internationally, she speaks both English and French. She lives in Quebec, where she also shares her passion for books and art with Quebec schoolchildren through their artists at school program.
