Douglas E. Busby, M.D., M.Sc., D.Min., Ph.D., is a physician and theologian with a lifelong interest in spiritual healing. He believes God provides a universal vital life force energy with the power to heal us. He also believes the spirit world can guide this energy to help God heal us. Rev. Dr. Busby wrote this book to promote a wider awareness of spirits being willing and able to help God heal us, recognizing that many Christians do not believe we have an immortal soul which becomes a spirit when we die, or a spirit can help God heal us. He begins by reviewing belief in the soul and spirit in the Holy Bible and in Christianity, and describing how nonbelievers in the soul and spirit are being challenged by the near-death experience (NDE). He summarizes what we presently know about spirit existence, drawing upon information provided by the spirit world to form the moral philosophy and observational science of Spiritism, and by the spirit of the prominent theologian, Rev. Dr. A. D. Mattson. He considers how spirits might help God heal us from the perspective of energy medicine, followed by many examples of spirits providing this help through John of God and the late Harry Edwards. And finally he suggests how we might ask the spirit world to help God heal us.

About the Author

A native of Canada, Rev. Dr. Douglas E. Busby originally chose medicine over theology for his career. He received his M.D. (cum laude) and M.Sc. (in biophysics) from the University of Western Ontario, and moved to the United States to join its space program. He became an information analyst at the Lovelace Foundation, writing on medical problems from space operations, and a resident in aerospace medicine at the Ohio State University, enabling him to become a board-certified specialist in aerospace medicine. Thereafter, he held key positions in aviation and preventive medicine in Continental Airlines, Transport Canada, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Eventually, Dr. Busby turned to his second career choice, receiving an M.Div. from the Chicago Theological Seminary and serving in several churches as an intentional interim (transitional) minister. Meanwhile, he advanced his theological education, receiving a D.Min. and a Ph.D. (in theological studies) from the Graduate Theological Foundation. Dr. Busby has had a life-long interest in spiritual healing, which for the past 17 years has included personal study of the work of John of God in spiritual healing. Currently, he preaches, lectures, and writes on and provides support for spiritual healing. He and his wife, Christina R. Dougherty, an energy medicine practitioner, live in Valparaiso, Indiana.
