Rowland George Allanson Allanson-Winn (1855 – 1935). His first book "Thoughts for the Future" documents his steps towards Islam before his official conversion at the hands of Khwaja Kamal-ud-Din at the Woking, England mosque. His life before conversion to Islam at the age of 58 included a career in amateur boxing, civil engineering, the editing of a local newspaper, and expert advice of coast erosion. After travels to Palestine, Egypt, Kashmir in British India, and Turkey Headley began to develop an affinity for Islam. Initially raised in the Anglican Church, he explored Catholicism and Unitarianism, but none of the three satisfied his spiritual or intellectual curiosity. Initially he proclaimed his shahadah (declaration of Faith) under Lahore Ahmadiyyah, but later adopted more traditional Islam and started the Pan-Islamic Society in London along with Abdullah Suhrawardy (1870 – 1935), Yusuf Ali, Marmaduke Pickthal, and others. Three compilations of his writings as a Muslim exist: A Western Awakening to Islam, The Three Great Prophets of the World — Moses, Jesus and Muhammad, and The Affinity between the Original Church of Jesus Christ and Islam.
