Inspiration Behind the Book: The back story behind "A Colorful Balloon Ride" was when I learned colors in my kindergarten art class and I got to learn how to draw shapes, landscapes, people, and animals by using the primary colors. My best friend Emily was in the same class, and I used her to name Mary's best friend, Emily. Emily and I loved seeing how colors painted a scene and brought people, places, and things to life.

About the Author
Allistar Banks was born and raised in McCormick, SC. Ms. Banks is a graduate of Lander University with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications. As an undergrad student, she discovered her passion for writing children and adult’s literature. Her passion for writing began at the age of eight which included making picture books that describe fantasy figures, places, and type. Ms. Banks focuses on creating stories that are fun, educational, and inspirational along with figurative language to capture the imagination of a child.
