Mona Islam has a Masters in Educational Administration and is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Houston. Her passion is has been youth work and Character Development since the 1990s. As a youth she was very active with the Muslim Youth of North America. Since 2008, she has founded the MAS Girl Scouts Troop 08651 which has grown to be an active and dynamic group focusing on the Character Development of youth in the Southeast Houston. Mona is a certified High School teacher and has taught high school English for several years. Mona is married and a dedicated mother of five children. She lives in Houston where she is busy with a lot of extended family and community service. She loves traveling, cooking, and reading.
