About the Author

Gerald S. Norde, Sr. was born and raised as a New Englander, Bridgeport, Connecticut with five siblings, four brothers and a sister. He obtained his BA Degree and Masters Degree from Southern Illinois University. Dr. Norde is the first Black, Negro, or Colored American to obtain a Doctorate Degree in Sociology, University of Delaware, 1985. He is also a proud father of four children and five grand-children.
