Synopsis

This Maths Is Not A Mystery TopicBook is an amalgamation of all the PracticeBooks within a single topic. In this book, algebraic graphs are covered at all levels tested in GCSE. The book covers straight line graphs, looking at how we use the ‘y = mx + c’ rule. We then move on to ‘y = mx + b’, which helps us to plot and define parallel and perpendicular lines on the graphs. After that we move on to graphs of simple functions, moving through polynomial functions (that’s where you do more than thing to the number – such as multiply by 3 and then add 2) all the way up to square and cubic functions. We then finish off with reciprocal functions. Foundation students can gain confidence in working to the very highest level of their ability, whilst Higher Paper students can dispel any confusion by checking over more basic aspects of the topic before attempting the most complex problems.
