Synopsis

May 8, 1945. Nazi Germany surrenders. But what if the Nazis never did?

For more than fifty years, a deadly secret has remained buried along the shores of Mexico’s Sea of Cortés—a fortune in Nazi gold and the remnants of a plan to resurrect the Third Reich.

In 1943, a German ship slipped into a hidden Mexican anchorage carrying gold intended to buy Mexico’s support for a declaration of war against the United States. When the mission failed, the ship vanished, leaving its treasure behind—and taking its secrets to the grave.

Until now.

When the husband of an old flame is brutally murdered in 1997, former war correspondent Peter Brandt is drawn into a search for the missing Nazi gold. What begins as a hunt for buried treasure quickly becomes a deadly investigation into a decades-old conspiracy stretching from Mexican drug cartels to a neo-Nazi training camp hidden in the mountains of Southern California.

Someone has spent half a century protecting the secret.

Someone is willing to kill to keep it buried.

As Brandt uncovers evidence of a surviving Nazi network determined to create a Fourth Reich, he discovers that the war Germany lost in 1945 may have never truly ended.

Inspired by real historical events and emerging research into postwar Nazi networks, The Fourth Rising is the latest Peter Brandt thriller—an explosive series of investigations where the ghosts of history collide with present-day conspiracies.
