Synopsis

My generation is losing touch with the reality of the day. This book is composed of flow of consciousness prose that grapple with the issues that define our time by dissecting society, race, gender, love, spirituality, and revolution from a local and global perspective. The book explores the internal and external world by weaving together personal narrative with external observation. Inspired by the essence of various literary and cultural movements (the Romantics, the Transcendentalists, the Beat poets, and the Hippies) the book uses a medium from the past yet is suggestive of a social media platform. This book is a reaction to the Twitter age but rather than being able to retweet or repeat talking points, this book challenges the reader by posing questions. These ideas will be read intimately and hopefully discussed communally with others. The style is homage to the Beat poets and the hippies of the 50s and 60s who dared to challenge their times and create a peace movement that changed the trajectory of society and the world. This book is a radical take on the present world order and the dissolution of the West as we know it. The political work that this book aims to achieve is apparent through the construction of the book that builds to the final discussions on the need for active civil society in creating a new world order that benefits every human on this planet. It is a call for a paradigm shift from the destruction of hierarchical thinking and places emphasis on the return to a circular view that is more aligned with nature and our spirits. The aim of the entire book is to build momentum to establish the modern-day peace movement that sees globalization not through the lens of failed economics, but rather as the possibility for people power.
