About the Authors

Author José Chavez was born in New Mexico and raised in Venice, CA. He has a Master's degree in ESL, and his poetry has appeared in the Multilingual Educator Journal. He's inspired by childhood experiences and the work of many outstanding poets. José resides in Moreno Valley, CA, with his wife and tabby cat. This book is his second collection of bilingual poems for children. José enjoys opportunities to present his books to audiences at schools, libraries, conferences, and other community events. El autor José Chavez nació en Nuevo México y se crió en Venice, CA. Tiene su Maestría en ESL, y su poesía ha sido publicado en la Revista de Multilingual Educator. Se inspira por medio de experiencias de su niñez y de la obra de poetas sobresalientes. José vive en Moreno Valley, CA, con su esposa y una gata moteada. Este libro es su segunda colección de poemas bilingües para niños.

Aydee López Martínez is a California artist, born in Teocaltiche, Jalisco, Mexico. Her colorful works have been shown throughout the U.S., parts of Mexico, and include two book covers. This is her second children's book illustration, in collaboration with poet and writer, José Chavez. She is very proud, excited, and dedicates it with love to her children, Micaela and Ryan. Aydee López Martínez es artista de California, nacida en Teocaltiche, Jalisco, México. Su arte brillante ha sido expuesto por los Estados Unidos, partes de México, e incluye dos portadas de libro. Este es su segunda ilustración de libro para niños, en colaboración con el poeta y escritor, José Chavez. Es muy orgullosa, animada, y lo dedica con amor a sus hijos, Micaela y Ryan.
