Synopsis

Behind the Collar is an extraordinary and compelling account of a young girl’s journey in search of male love. She was raised as a “preacher’s kid” in a home with high expectations and discipline. Even though she never doubted her parents’ love for her, there were few displays of love and affection in the household. In this book, Karen Dade shares a raw, graphic, and real account of her encounters and relationships with males beginning when she was but twelve years old.Readers are transported into a “girl-turned woman’s” world where they find, in riveting color, detailed accounts of Dade’s experiences. Few will make it to the last page without having felt a gamut of emotions including anger, pain, disbelief, sadness, and joy as they journey with Dade to her destiny. Behind the Collar offers all who have endured and survived abuse both hope and the promise of redemption, which is available to all. This is a story that will not be easily forgotten.
