Synopsis

‘Be like a train; go in the rain, go in the sun, go in the storm, go in the dark tunnels! Be like a train; concentrate on your road and go with no hesitation!’ -Mehmet Murat Ildan

Sameer’s life was about to change; he knew not where he was headed but quite certain that jumping on the train to Mumbai with only a few clothes was definitely the right direction. He had left the known to find the unknown, the unknown that attracted him towards a far greater calling. Would Sameer find what he was seeking? Did the chance encounter on the train with a random stranger change his mind forever? Are life events that appear random, planned by a higher force to push us in a particular direction? Do they carry a deeper message from life itself? Read this story and others that explore the environment, development, poverty-related issues of India through the lens of train travel. Read ‘Welcome aboard the Indian Railways’ to find out more about the unique joys of train travel in India.
