The Quest for Peace is an outgrowth of the author s previous work, titled How Goes It with America, in which he stresses a closer look at the deficits in our educational, political, and social systems as well as economic stresses on family structures. He also points out ways in which our society and politics can move to higher ground and avoid the pitfalls of the past.

About the Author
Harry Gael Michaels is a retired school psychologist who first entered his career as a juvenile probation officer in the 1960s. His writing of this essay is the result of witnessing an escalation of violence over the years in the nation. He is also the author of How Goes It with America, Wings Over Normandy, The State of the Republic, and Reflections on Institutional Catholic-ism.
