Synopsis

The study of concepts, principles and practices of atomic, subatomic, microscopic and particulate phenomena in chemical systems is known as physical chemistry. Force, statistical mechanics, energy, quantum chemistry, time and analytical dynamics are some of the concepts studied in this field. It also aims to study the effects of intermolecular forces, electrochemical cell reactions, rate of the reaction and colligative properties of materials present in a solution. The underlying concept of this field is the way in which pure physics is used to solve chemical problems. The main goal of this discipline is to predict the properties of chemical compounds and study how the atoms present in those compounds are bonded. Quantum chemistry, surface chemistry, thermochemistry and reaction kinetics are some of the disciplines related to this area of study. This book provides comprehensive insights into the field of physical chemistry. It also attempts to understand the multiple branches that fall under this discipline and how such concepts have practical applications. Those with an interest in this field would find this book helpful.
