Synopsis
Tess Noncoiré, best selling fantasy author, wielder of the Celestial Blade, and companion of a pandimensional imp, Scrap, has pulled up stakes in New England to settle in Portland, Oregon, far from the man who broke her heart. Here, she can stalk the trails of Forest Park in search of the Nörglein, a dark elf bent on repopulating his species by raping joggers.
Dr. Sean Connolly, a handsome, young, ER doctor, who has treated the assaulted women, eagerly joins Tess in her quest to end the Nörglein's evil. She's vulnerable to his attraction, but he can never be the renowned Guilford van der Hoyden Smyth Ph.D., Gollum, her former lover.
Before the dark lord can be caught, two of his daughters escape his abuse to seek refuge with Tess. Their stories convince an entire posse of Tess's friends, including Lady Lucia, a vampire crime boss from Las Vegas, that the reign of terror must be stopped by any means. Inevitably, both Tess's former lovers, Gollum and Donovan, join the search.
Now, Tess must protect the innocent girls while fighting her own heart, jealous lovers, and an evil elf bent on destruction.

About the Author
Irene Radford has been writing stories ever since she figured out what a pencil was for. A member of an endangered species--a native Oregonian who lives in Oregon--she and her husband make their home in Welches, Oregon where deer, bears, coyotes, hawks, owls, and woodpeckers feed regularly on their back deck.
A museum trained historian, Irene has spent many hours prowling pioneer cemeteries deepening her connections to the past. Raised in a military family she grew up all over the US and learned early on that books are friends that don't get left behind with a move. Her interests and reading range from ancient history, to spiritual meditations, to space stations, and a whole lot in between.
Mostly Irene writes fantasy and historical fantasy including the best-selling Dragon Nimbus Series. In other lifetimes she writes urban fantasy as P.R. Frost and space opera as C.F. Bentley.
