Synopsis

What happens when a young hockey player comes home to find himself, as well as improve as a leader and a professional hockey player?

Christoff Antazzini is the last player cut from his parent club, the St. Louis Blues. At nineteen years old, he returns to his hometown Springfield (Massachusetts) Thunderbirds, determined to become an NHL player.

He realizes that he must become a standout AHL Thunderbird before being called back to play for St. Louis. With a lot of hard work on the ice - and work off the ice with old friends - he assures everyone that they will always be friends.

His assignment of learning how to become a leader is helped by his girlfriend, Emily, a volunteer at a local hospital that helps young people battle cancer.

Where the Pros Go! is an entertaining story full of hockey action and interplay between an ensemble cast as Christoff chases his dream.

(About the Author)

Mike Maloni writes, "Hockey and more! The best things I could believe in about the game of hockey and my hometown came out in this novel. With my battle against mental illness, this book is number seven, even though I wanted to write it first. This one is about home, and the characters showed me that as my thoughts were about showing people the hockey action on the ice, there was also the spirit of my city, which I can enjoy fully now because of advances in medication and therapy. I truly hope you enjoy this one, because it teaches young people that they can be the best." His next novel is about college basketball and is set at his alma mater, Boston University.
