Synopsis
He Sent His Word to Heal Us is a collection of scripture-based prayers on healing that came from the author's Facebook prayer group praying for the healing of a friend from breast cancer. This book not only encourages readers toward prayer, but to a better understanding of God's responsibilities to our prayers. The author gives an honest take on what prayers are to God and how we should view God as not a genie answering our wishes, but a loving God who knows His will for our lives better than we do. The prayers stay true to the scripture references they are inspired by, but also present readers with logical prayers that they could easily say at any moment. The words aren't grandiose or too confusing to interpret but are straight from the Bible and written to be applicable to whatever situation a reader might be going through. Ethel Henderson Walker has a passion for bringing the truth and power of God's Word into everyday life through prayer. To this end, she has spent countless hours over the past twenty years in study of the Bible from the original Greek and Hebrew text. She lives in Victoria, Texas where she recently retired after over thirty years in early childhood and Christian education.
