Synopsis

At last, Pedro and Ludi Perez have a suburban residence where their precious baby daughter can grow up, far from the troubled inner city where they were raised. But there is a mysterious pendant engraved with strange lettering, which fell at their feet during a thunderstorm. As a traffic accident threatens to lead to the loss of the Perez family's new home, Pedro takes peculiar solace from a neighbor's mystical attempts to seek the pendant's origin. But he has to wonder: Is she really channeling spirits from on board a spacecraft sixty years in the future, answering to an extraterrestrial distress call? Or is this some bizarre act meant to distract her audience from their mounting worries? And then there are the hints that Pedro and his loved ones are soon to get swept up in those other worldly circumstances ...for the Great Healing...

About the Author

David Taylor is Director of the MA Programme in Environmental and Social Studies at the University of North London. He has been Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Sydney and City College, City University, and has been a member of the "Critical Social Policy" Editorial Collective since 1983.
