Comprehensive College Algebra: Building Mathematical Insights Through Logic and Exercises is a concise, but rigorous, introduction to college algebra that features a variety of exercises designed to help students build up mathematical thinking, master mathematical skills, and develop mathematical insights.
The book begins with an introduction of sets and the number systems. This foundational knowledge prepares students for the subsequent chapters, and skill development in areas including: Polynomials; Factoring; Linear Equations and Inequalities; Rational Expressions; Coordinate Systems and Lines; Radicals; Quadratic Equations; Conic Sections; and Exponential and Logarithmic Functions.
All chapters emphasize clear definitions, which are presented in context, as well as propositions and theorems. Comprehensive review questions are included at the end of the book to allow for independent practice.
