About the Author

Kimberly Kay Hoang is an assistant professor in the department of sociology and international studies at Boston College. Her research examines the connections between shifting political economies and new hierarchies of global sex work in Vietnam. Rhacel Salazar Parrenasis professor of sociology and gender studies and chair of the department of sociology at the University of Southern California. Her research examines the interface of human trafficking and labor migration in economic globalization.
