About the Author

Max Freedom Long (1890-1971) was an American writer and researcher who became known for his interpretations of Hawaiian spiritual traditions. After living in Hawaii as a schoolteacher, Long developed the concept he called "Huna," which he described as an ancient system of spiritual knowledge concerning the mind, prayer, and the forces behind what many people describe as miracles.
