Stephen Haskell was deeply involved in the mission of the Adventist movement. Administrator, author, evangelist, publisher, Haskell helped inaugurate the first regular church tract and missionary society plan in 1869. This is possibly the accomplishment for which is best known because of its far-reaching results. He was also involved in the development of Seventh-day Adventist education at schools like Battle Creek College, the Madison College, Healdsburg College, South Lancaster Academy, and Avondale College.
