Synopsis

Parenting is not brain surgery, but is infinitely more difficult if it can’t be appreciated as an opportunity, a gift from God, and the potential for joy ignored. That is why Dr. J. Keith Houff penned Joyful, Yet Effective Parenting: Pray and Laugh Daily. This riveting book develops parent skills and an attitude for more effective parenting by helping children's caretakers understand the consistency between neuroscience, attachment research, and teachings from the Bible that can transform family relationships. Parents will learn to establish and maintain a healthy and nurturing relationship with their child. The information in this book was developed through observation, consultation and prayers of hundreds of effective parents spanning the professional careers of the author and his wife. Keith Houff is the Regional Director of People Places, Inc.– Valley Offices, Staunton, Virginia where he is a licensed professional counselor. For over 30 years, he has worked with foster, adoptive and biological parents and their children.
