About the Author

Carol J. Baker, MD, FAAP, is executive director of the Center for Vaccine Awareness and Research at Texas Children’s Hospital and professor of pediatrics and of molecular virology and microbiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. She has served as chair of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, on the AAP Committee on Infectious Diseases, as associate editor of multiple editions of Red Book, and as editor of the first 2 editions of Red Book Atlas.
