Synopsis
Summer Solutions Kindergarten Reading Comprehension is for students entering 1st Grade. Without ongoing practice, literacy s lag over the summer break. However, students can bridge the summer learning gap with Kindergarten Reading Comprehension. All educational standards require children leaving kindergarten to demonstrate basic knowledge of letter-sound correspondences, recognize and produce rhyming words, use phonics to decode three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant or CVC) words, identify the short and long vowels sounds for the five major vowels, read common high-frequency words, and read emergent-reader texts with purpose and understanding. Using the summer workbook, students complete 30 lessons of mixed review over a 10-week period, and this ongoing practice ensures retention of literacy s and concepts covered in kindergarten. By completing just one lesson three days a week, students enter first grade ready to begin learning new material right away.
