Max Beerbohm (1872 - 1956) was a British caricaturist and parodist. As a young man he was considered quite the wit and spent much time in London society. By 35 he was considered to be middle aged and a bit dull. Beerbohm was drama critic for the Saturday review and later broadcast radio work. The Works of Max Beerbohm was published in 1896. About the Author

John Lane is a painter, writer, and educationalist. He was Chairman of the Dartington Hall Trust, founding director of the Beaford Arts Centre, and instrumental in the creation of Schumacher College. His previous books include "The Living Tree: Art and the Sacred, In Praise of Devon, Timeless Beauty, The Spirit of Silence" and "A Celebration of Devon's Churches". He lives in North Devon, England, with his wife, Truda.
