Synopsis

ONCE UPON A TIME IN A LAND YOU NEVER HEARD OF... LAST RITES: DIVINE INTERVENTION is a blood-soaked story of vengeance as would-be heroes try to save the once glorious land of Drekken from total choas, in a novel inspried by the classic "Sword and Scorcery" genre made popular by Robert E. Howard's Conan. An evil place does nothing but breed more evil and this was the case with Dwendleheim, capital of the Drekken kingdom. One of the peasants of the city named Mageem was beaten by the townsfolk and he committed suicide with the Dagger of Ithotep, awakening the black lord, Anaxis. He would become quite powerful and end up bringing chaos to the capital city and its surroundings. Hemotep, the spirit of all that is good, resurrected a warrior of his own to face off against Anaxis. Hemotep's warrior was to retrieve the Dagger of Ithotep and slay this ancient evil that had awoken. Chane, the hero, received assistance along the way from a spirit guide in human form named Thelonius; a barmaid by day and thief by night named Jembin; a half-giant named Drall; and the ex-soldier of the Royal Army of Drekken, Nagier of Natamar, who is on his own mission to kill his former employer, the King of Drekken, Asgad Wolfgar II.
