Hungarian-born Amital (b.1924) survived a Nazi labor camp, moved to Palestine in 1944, and became a rabbi, serving as head of Israel's largest hesder yeshiva, Yeshivat Har Etzion for more than 50 years. This is a collection of his statements (ranging in length from a few sentences to a couple pages) on topics pertaining to Jewish identity, redemption, social justice, government--to name a few. The book was originally published in Hebrew to honor Amital's 80th birthday; this translation (by Kaeren Fish) makes it available in English (most of the contents, for the first time).
