Help with Building Codes.
I have been a building inspector for eleven years. After ten years of writing the same corrections day in and day out, I started compiling some lists of the most common code violations from the UBC, UPC, UMC, NEC and CABO model codes. This book is designed to be used in the field by anyone involved in residential construction. The waterproof lamination makes this as much a tool as it is a book.
Redwood Kardon is a former building inspector for Oakland, CA., and is the leading professional lecturer nationwide on building codes. He also owns and maintains "codecheck.com," a website devoted to promoting the Code Check manual. Coauthors Douglas Hansen and Michael Casey have 25 and 18 years of field experience, respectively. All three authors teach seminars for inspectors around the country, using the "Code Check" series as their primary material. Paddy Morrissey was the senior illustrator for CornerHardware.com and has been the sole illustrator for the "Code Check" series. Skip Walker is a certified residential combination inspector, who has a particular interest in smoke alarm performance issues and deck safety.
