Professor Richard Brettell is the Margaret McDermott Distinguished Professor of Art and Aesthetics at The University of Texas at Dallas and the former McDermott Director of the Dallas Museum of Art. Curator of exhibits for San Francisco's de Young Museum and the Dallas Museum of Art, Professor Brettell has delivered lectures at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Gallery of Art. He has also advised and consulted for popular museums, including the Portland Museum of Art.
