Readers can relive key moments in the conflict by visiting battlefields and other relevant sites such as Queenstown Heights, Lundy’s Lane, Fort McHenry, and Chalmette Plantation outside New Orleans. The book is divided into seven chronologically arranged chapters, each of them focusing on one of several distinct theaters of the war. Follow the course of what happened and why each location was important to the war as a whole.

About the Authors
John Grant is the executive producer of dozens of successful PBS documentary broadcasts and series including The War of 1812, Window to the Sea, and the award-winning Niagara Falls: An Intimate Portrait.
Ray Jones is the author of more than 40 books. His award-winning Lighthouse Encyclopedia is considered the definitive treatment of the subject. Ray has also authored or coauthored several highly successful companion books for PBS.
