From the Author

A bit of biography and a question
I have been active in breeding, showing, coursing, racing and hunting with my Ridgebacks since 1965. I was privileged to obtain my first dogs from Mylda Arsenis in Zimbabwe. Much of what I learned about these dogs comes from her. One of my clients had the original print of the illustration on p. 22, 'Eighteenth-century Lion dog'. I would greatly appreciate any further information about this painting. I have always found it very intriguing indeed. I hope you enjoy the book and like all the Mazoe Ridgebacks whose photos adorn the book. We are dedicated to producing the functional dog, capable of doing the job for which this breed was desisgned, despite the restrictions of modern society.
