In the new edition of Infection Control Policies for Community Paramedicine and MIH, Katherine West, expert and international speaker on infection control, explains how good infection control practices, vaccines and immunizations, cleaning and disinfection of equipment and work restriction guidelines can assist EMS providers and improve patient care. Infection control practices are very different in community paramedicine/mobile integrated healthcare (CP/MIH) practice. It is important to have proper training to understand the differences. In October 2024, the CDC stated that there is a lack of training and consistency in CP/MIH programs.
