Compressing the colors and numbers of her board books into a compact set of ten nesting blocks, Sara Anderson adds elements of early childhood learning which are critical to a toddler's physical and intellectual development: In arranging and rearranging these sturdy cardboard cubes, young children acquire such essential skills as fine motor coordination, patterning, sorting, sequencing, and stacking. It's hard to believe that such a wealth of learning is nestled in the cardboard carrying casesporting a convenient carrying cord. And for children, that's hardly the point: They will discover a whole world of fabulous creatures and plants in bold colors and striking patterns to bring happy activity to any nearby floor.
