About the Author

I was born and raised in Rochester, New York, where my parents and all four siblings still live. I graduated from St. Bonaventure University in New York in 1981, and yearning for an adventure, moved to Brownsville, Texas to take on a Fifth Grade teaching position. After a few years of teaching in Texas, my path crossed with an acquaintance from college, Chad Nelson. We chose to keep in touch and within a year we were married! Because Chad was an active duty Marine, I had the tremendous joy of living in some really neat places: Virginia, California (twice), Alabama, Italy, and Rhode Island. Living in such varied locations offered unexpected enrichment in my life, each move holding up a unique mirror to my soul. When Chad retired in 2000, we packed up our three sons and moved to the Texas Hill Country. While most of my adult life has been spent taking care of my family, I have also worked in some time exploring the art of writing. I have found wonderful fulfillment in learning more about my faith through writing and have enjoyed the experience of being able to share some thoughts and discovered information with others. I have written for publications such as ... Liguorian, St. Anthony Messenger, Our Sunday Visitor, Canticle, Today's Catholic, The Family Digest, Catechist and Religion Teachers' Journal.
