About the Author

Levi Cooper, originally from Australia, teaches at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem and serves as the rabbi of HaTzur VeHaTzohar Congregation in Zur Hadassa, Israel. His PhD, awarded by Bar- Ilan University s Faculty of Law, explored the interaction between Hasidism and Jewish Law. Rabbi Cooper is a member of the Israel Bar Association and the Tzohar rabbis organisation, and serves as a historian with Heritage Seminars. He publishes The Tisch, a column on Hasidism in The Jerusalem Post, and is a contributing editor for Jewish Educational Leadership, the Lookstein Center for Jewish Education journal
