Fitzgerald (an independent scholar) includes in her comprehensive metabook a publishing history of the series, profiles of all the publishers, editors' biographies and bibliographies, a list of illustrators for all the volumes, and biographies of the mapmakers. Thereafter are sections on each volume/river detailing information on all its editions and printings, a biography of its author(s) and bibliography of their works, a list of reviews of the volume, and a list of sources for Fitzgerald's entry.
