Professor McCall's book is an excellent companion for students and researchers in the social sciences and the humanities who need a foundation in the logic of understanding data issues through statistical analysis. The volume is efficiently organized and the concepts are clearly explained in a rich context of appropriately chosen scenarios, graphic displays, and statistical procedures."¡ªProf. Mario Saltarelli, Ph.D.; Professor of Spanish, Italian, and Linguistics; University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. "Dr. McCall has successfully assembled an authoritative yet understandable and usable treatment of statistical methods. This manual provides a desperately needed bridge over the gap between sound theory and real-world applications!"¡ªJohn F. Anderson, Ph.D.; President, Anderson, Niebuhr & Associates, Inc., Arden Hills, MN. This manual is an excellent aid for adult learners, particularly if they feel their math skills are rusty. It is a practical guide that emphasizes the role of data analysis in applied research topics."¡ªGabriella Belli, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Educational Research and Evaluation, Virginia Tech, Falls Church, VA. "The text is an easy to read, user-friendly work of broad coverage. Technical jargon is minimized and the constancy of concepts (such as Type I error) across techniques is emphasized. These qualities should make this an attractive choice for those in search of a book for students who need to know how to interpret their computer output and who never intend to calculate by hand. This is a practical book for practitioners."¡ªProfessor Kathy Green, Ph.D.; College of Education, University of Denver, Denver, Colorado.
